Matrisome composition and processing in renal tumors of VHL disease

P12

Project Summary

P12 will elucidate how the extracellular matrix and its associated proteins, the “matrisome”, provide essential cues to promote neoplastic progression in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and how this process is triggered by loss of the tumor suppressor VHL. Based on a ccRCC cohort of >70 patients with the monogenic von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) syndrome and >150 sporadic ccRCCs, P12 will combine proteome profiling with subsequent functional in vitro and in vivo studies to link matrisome composition with ccRCC tumor biology and to characterize the individual roles of selected matrisome components.
